Free range traditional breed meat direct from the producer at affordable prices. We provide pork, lamb and chickens, pates, sausages, and also make gluten-free cakes to order.
Stock: Our pigs are rare breed Saddleback and Oxford Sandy & Black sows, crossed with our Oxford Sandy & Black boar. As well as great tasting traditionally reared pork we also produce pedigree Oxford Sandy & Black breeding stock.
The lambs are bred from our traditional Shropshire ram, Archie.
Welfare: The sows are kept outdoors until a week before they farrow. Then we bring them in so that we can be there while they give birth and keep an extra eye on their new born piglets until they are two weeks old. Then the piglets head outside with their mother where they spend the rest of their life rooting around like they were born to do.
Health: By rearing our pigs outdoors and adjusting their food intake we are able to minimise the excessive fat that can be associated with traditional breeds of pig. Our animals are all free range and fed on locally grown cereals, we mix the rations ourselves so you can be sure there are no growth promoters or antibiotics fed to them.
Quality: Our sausages are made with natural skins, hae no additives or preservatives, and contain at least 80% meat (the really meaty variety are 97% meat and gluten-free)
Value: Our pork is a similar price to intensively farmed pork from supermarket, and the more you buy the bigger the saving.
